Critical Infrastructures and Image Politics research group hosts a workshop and a half-day informal symposium dedicated to the use of artistic research, science fiction, future studies and other creative methods in researching cultural approaches to AI and decolonial and feminist AI imaginaries.

Join us for a challenging and engaging seminar event on exploring issues related to evolving contemporary language and terminologies used within equality, diversity and inclusion. 

This inaugural event marks the launch of Critical Infrastructures and Image Politics Research (CIIP) research group at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, and is the first event in the collaboration with Centre for the Study of the Networked Image (CSNI, London South Bank University) and Digital Aesthetics Research Group (DARC, Aarhus University).

A transformative, five-day workshop that delves into the art of creative Japanese cutting. Under the umbrella of MAISON MAFD, students worked as a collective design house to push the boundaries of traditional garment cutting, resulting in an inspiring collection that reflects both innovation and craftsmanship.

This event presents a performative, participatory approach to public engagement in fluvial ecologies through artistic practice. Participants will be introduced to the Island of the Day Before project, followed by an outdoor tour of the surrounding Itchen River and Winnall Moors.

Branching out is an outdoor, collaborative Game Jam between Year 2 & 3 BA Games Design and Art students in the WSA car park.

A collective group exhibition organised by Winchester School of Art (WSA) postgraduate research students was held in The Winchester Gallery between 29 June – 26 July 2023.

Work with creative facilitators to use new AI and digital imaging technologies to produce new works of art and collaborate with others to build a virtual visualisation of Tate Britain as an inclusive, accessible, and non-hierarchical space.

Playing with the Climate crisis is a 3 day table top gaming event in which you will hear talks, have a chance to participate in a climate game making workshop and be the first people in the world to play a pre-production copy of Daybreak.
